Speech & Media Studies Program

Theability to communicate ideas is an essential skill in every aspect of our daily lives. In keeping with Missouri S&T's commitment to educate tomorrow's leaders in engineering and science, the Speech and Media Studies program offers students a minor program of study in communication that provides them with a theory-grounded understanding of the communication process and the application of its principles in a variety of communication contexts.

Speech and Media Studies offers two minor degrees in Communication: Communication Studies and Leadership Communication. Each minor requires fifteen hours of study.

PLEASE NOTE:These recently revised minor curricula in communication took effect in Fall Semester of 1997. Students applying for a minor in communication are expected to conform to the new curriculum. Student currently pursuing a communication minor under the old program (filed before FS97) are not affected, and should contact their minor advisor with any questions.
